Turning a passion for sport into a profession

  1. Plan out your study timetables and training schedules, giving equal importance to both.
  2. Speak with your counsellors, teachers and coaches to receive their advice and approval of the above.
  3. Keep in mind the amount of time you will be away at Competitions and the time it will take to recoup and get back to your daily schedule.
  4. Together with your parents, plan out your meals and supplements, especially during school hours and training of course.
  5. Chat with your friends on how you still stay friends despite the limited social life.
  6. Create a rapport with your co athletes on how you can share your experiences and routines despite the rivalry while away at competition,
  7. Keep a positive and focused mindset throughout, despite failures and temptations along the way.
  8. Keep a healthy relationship between your school principals and your family, so that both are constantly on the same page.
